Finishing Advanced

Once you know the basics of finishing, then you’ll be able to protect and enhance your woodworking projects with a well-applied finish. But there is so much more you can do!
Techniques such as glazing, dying, shading, color correction, waxing, and multi-layer finishes will allow you to push your woodworking projects from “nice” to “WOW!,” and give you a whole new dimension of design possibilities. These techniques and knowledge will also greatly improve the success of any repairs or restorations you might undertake in the future.

This advanced finishing class, taught by master finisher Jim Altman, is intended for students who have completed our Finishing Basic and Finishing Intermediate classes or equivalent.

You will receive 32 hours of instruction, including lectures, demonstrations, and plenty of hands-on practice with tools and materials as you learn to develop and execute a wide variety of finishes and special effects.
