Beginning Marquetry with Jeff Grossman

Come and tap into your inner artist while learning new woodworking skills.

Marquetry is the art and craft of creating pictures and decorative designs by the skillful use of the grain, figure and color of thin wood veneers. A.K.A.: Painting with wood!

In this two-day class, master craftsman Jeff Grossman will guide you through every step as you take an ordinary panel and enhance it with marquetry, using the “Packet Method” with a scroll saw, and the “Window Method” with a scalpel.

We are delighted to welcome Elizabeth Weber to the Southwest School of Woodworking this Fall. Elizabeth is a master turner with a unique style that includes carving, texturing, custom finishes, and other innovative artistic flourishes. Join us for this exciting class, where Elizabeth will share her innovations and encourage you to create your own. In this five-day class, each student will push their own creativity and will produce several works that will surely continue to inspire.
