Turning a Stool is one of our most gratifying workshops, combining turning and furniture-building into a fast project that results in an elegant three-legged stool.
In just one day, you’ll turn the seat and legs and then fully assemble an attractive walnut stool that makes a great gift or can be put to work anywhere you might want an extra seat.
With expert instruction from Master Craftsman Doug Forsha, you’ll be able to customize the contours of the seat and legs and will even have time to apply a coat of finish.
You will learn:
- How to turn the legs and the seat on the lathe
- How to use jigs to efficiently cut the leg tenons on the lathe
- how to make the matching mortises in the seat, on the drill press.
- How to assemble the stool and apply the finish
After cutting the joinery you will prepare the surfaces for the finish, then assemble and apply a finish.
The finished product will be something that will last for years.
