RPF101G22 Repairing the Finish

August, 13 - August, 14 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM MST

While learning to finish is a critical skill for any furniture maker, the art of repairing a finish is just as important — and can be useful for non-woodworkers, too.

Whether you’re ready to apply a new finish to a refurbished piece, or you want to repair damage to a beloved heirloom, Tom Licurgo is here to help.

A master finisher, Tom has specialized in finishing repair for many years and is ready to share his secrets over two action-packed days.

Scratches, scrapes, burns, water marks, dog chewed legs, sun-faded discolorations… Tom has seen it all and more.

Whether you want to learn to repair damage or create a finish that will withstand the test of time, this is the workshop for you!

You will learn how to:

  • repair scratches
  • repair gouges
  • match color
  • repair missing wood
  • adjust color or tone
  • adjust sheen
  • and much more!
